Melisa Moore has extensive litigation experience representing municipalities, insureds, and corporations in complex matters involving subrogation, commercial and business litigation, workers’ compensation, premises liability, toxic torts, personal injury, landlord tenant litigation and civil rights litigation.

Ms. Moore’s practice also includes providing advice and counsel to insurers on liability and exposure on a variety of general liability and commercial claims. Ms. Moore has experience in both state and federal court in all stages of litigation including pre-suit investigations and mediation.

Before joining the firm as associate in 2011, Ms. Moore practiced law at a regional insurance defense firm in Memphis. She has successfully defended and resolved hundreds of cases for her clients. Ms. Moore is a native Memphian and stays active in the community by serving Big Sisters in Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Mid-South and serving on numerous non-profit boards.

Representative Matters

  • In October of 2017, Ms. Moore, Tannera Gibson and Lani Lester, representing the City of Memphis, won a motion for summary judgement in a civil rights wrongful incarceration matter. Nelson v. City of Memphis
  • In March of 2017, Ms. Moore and Melissa Maravich won a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction on behalf of Defendant in a defamation lawsuit in United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Lewis et al. v. Loftin
  • In March of 2014, Ms. Moore won a motion for summary judgement in an automobile personal injury matter in Shelby County Circuit Court (Rivers v. Crouch et al.) and in 2012 received a defense verdict in a bench trial in its companion case. (Johnson v. Crouch et al.)
