July 24, 2018

For the past ten years, Burch, Porter & Johnson has been a participant in the Memphis Bar Association Summer Law Intern Program. The program seeks to develop and nurture an interest in the legal profession among young people from underrepresented groups. Interns have the oportunity to learn about legal practice in Memphis by accompanying lawyers to court; assisting lawyers in case preparation; observing the negotiation or closing of a business transaction, and more.

Firm attorney Melisa Moore recently attended the Memphis Bar Association Summer Law Intern Program closing ceremony. Ms. Moore was able to present the firm's summer intern, Jordan Brown, with a completion certificate, and $500.00 stipend. Miss Brown is a rising senior at Central High School and plans to use her stipend to cover senior year expenses.

State Representative Raumesh Akbari was the guest speaker at the ceremony pictured (L to R) along with with Miss Brown, Ms. Moore, and Judge Gina Higgins.
